Leading opticians Specsavers has focused on expanding its operations in the West Midlands with the launch of a new high street store.
The multi-national retail chain has agreed a 10-year lease on a 3,351 sq ft retail unit at High Street, Aldridge, in a deal brokered by commercial property consultancy Burley Browne on behalf of landlord SEP Properties.
A former bank building, the shop is prominently positioned in a popular location with nearby occupiers including Lloyds Bank, Co-op Travel, BetFred, and a selection of local retailers. Operators at the adjoining Aldridge Shopping Centre include Costa Coffee, WH Smith and Iceland.
David Hemming, Joint Managing Director at Burley Browne, said: “Specsavers has been keen to secure a presence in Aldridge for some time and this unit is perfect for their requirements. This is a national brand investing in the town centre and it once again reinforces our message that the high street is very much alive and kicking.
We have acted on behalf of our client SEP Properties for many years and we are talking to Specsavers about other opportunities across the West Midlands that they may potentially be interested in.”
The store will be led by directors Tim Goodhew, Lakhdeep Kaur, Giles Edmonds, Matthew Alexander and Tajinder Showker, who are also in charge of sister stores in Sutton Coldfield and Mere Green.
