Mere Green redevelopment set to go ahead

The centre of Mere Green is finally set to welcome in the diggers this summer following the sale of the vacant retail site to London based developers Salmon Harvester.

Due for completion by Summer 2016, the scheme includes an 11,000 sq ft Marks and Spencer Simply Food, with other deals rumoured to be agreed to Café Nerro, Italian restaurant chain Prezzo and Boots the Chemist.

David Hemming, Retail and Leisure Director commented, "it is with a sense of relief and a great deal of excitement that the sale has finally completed. Mere Green deserves a quality retail and leisure focus and we hope that the developers are able to secure some exciting retail and leisure occupiers not present in the town. We look forward to further tenant announcements over the coming months".
